Almir Barbassa, the CFO of oil company Petrobras, said during a conference that he is asking local banks to lend more to Brazilian suppliers of oil-producing equipment.
These companies have long-term contracts with Petrobras and therefore bear lower risk of default. The conference took place on Monday in Rio de Janeiro. José Lima de Andrade Neto, president of BR Distribuidora, was in attendance.
